I am not unique, you are.
I am a 40 odd year old father of 4. I have been married for over 20 years, and as the PC brigade would put it, I have life skills.
For much of my working life I have worked in the freezing work industry.
As such, some of that culture has influenced how I approach the photographic business.
Respect is to be earned. It cannot be asked for, and certainly shouldn’t be expected.
Be good at what you do, make your mates day easier and.... humility.
I feel uncomfortable using the phrases 'unique vision' and 'special talent'. The truth is that photography has been around for over 100 years. If a photographer believes they are unique, they are disillusion.
I look internationally for inspiration. International standards is what I hold myself accountable to.
That is what I bring with me to record your memories.
I always when I read other photographers description of themselves.
They love dealing with the intangible, the undefinable, their opinion of themselves.
I will only list the facts.
I am me. With all my imperfections.
I cannot expect you to be yourself, if I am trying to be someone I am not.
I have invested a huge amount of time and money in myself and my gear.
I steal the best ideas from across the globe, and bring that knowledge with me.
I am a tech geek, if it can be done, I will find a way of doing it.
Finally, this is what I do. This is my dream, and I hope this will be my legacy.
It is never just another wedding, or just another shoot, or just another gig.
Nothing is ever the same, everyone is different.
I love to craft images, it is not merely clicking that shutter button and hoping for the best.
The image already exists in my head, the hard part is trying to make it a reality.
You don't take a photograph, you make it.
Ansel Adams
